- Description
You will receive a seed packet containing 1 gram or a minimum of 100 seeds. Asclepias Incarnata commonly known as Swamp Milkweed is a wildflower native to North America and a member of the Asclepiadaceae family. This variety gets its name from the damp soil conditions in which it grows. Milkweed was traditionally used by indigenous people to remove warts and treat respiratory diseases. In modern-day, the leaves are known to contain cardiac glycoside, a toxic substance to many birds and mammals. Pollinators such as bees and butterflies love the nectar produced by their flowers. The Monarch butterfly famously chose Milkweed as the only plant to lay its eggs on making this species crucial to the survival of the butterfly! Native plant and butterfly enthusiasts love growing Swamp Milkweed and we think you will too.
