Hot Pepper Jam Cream Cheese Appetizer

1 block cream cheese

1 jar Hot Pepper Jam

Crackers or fresh vegetables

Open jar of jam and heat on stove top or by placing entire jar in microwave. Do not put the lid in the microwave. Carefully drizzle warm jam over a block of cream cheese. Garnish with dried red peppers or red pepper flakes. Serve with crackers, toast or veggies.


RAMP DIP 1/2 jar Dot Montgillion’s Ramp Jam, 1/3 package cream cheese, 1/3 container sour cream. Mix together & serve.

RAMP CHEESE SPERAD 16 oz sour cream, 16 oz extra sharp cheddar cheese, 3/4 oz blue cheese crumbles, 8 oz cream cheese, 2 tablespoons brown mustard, 5-6 shakes Tabasco sauce, diced olives to taste, diced ramps to taste, garlic salt or powder to taste. Mix together & serve.

MERT’S RAMP SPREAD 8 oz package cream cheese, 5 tablespoons salad dressing or mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon milk, 5 chopped ramps. Mix together & serve.

CHIP CHOPPED RAMP SPREAD 8 oz cream cheese, 1 package chipped beef, 6 chopped ramps, 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce, walnuts. Roll cream cheese, chipped beef, ramps, Worcestershire sauce into a ball. Roll in chopped nuts. Serve on crackers.

PIG TAILS 8 oz cream cheese, 6 ramps, 1-2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, 1 dash garlic salt, 8 oz chopped ham. Mix ramps, Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt and cream cheese together. Spread a thin layer over a slice of ham. Roll up ham and slice into bite-sized pieces.

RAMPS WITH SCALLOPED POTATOES 6 cups sliced potatoes, 3 cups ramps, salt and black pepper as needed, 3/4 cup heavy cream, 1/2 cup chicken broth, 1 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese. Arrange layer of potatoes in greased casserole dish pan; add layer of ramps, salt & pepper. Repeat layers, ending with potatoes. Mix cream & broth; pour over potatoes and ramps. Bake 45 minutes at 375 degrees. Sprinkle cheese over & serve.

RAMPS & FRIED POTATOES Add 1/2 gallon fresh, chopped ramps to a large skillet of fried potatoes.

RAMPS & SCRAMBLED EGGS Scramble one dozen eggs with one quart of fresh, chopped ramps.

RAMP CORNBREAD Add chopped ramps to your favorite cornbread recipe.
